Sustainability

In BIO4A the entire value chain will be evaluated by means of a proper set of key performance indicators which will focus on the technological, socio-economic and environmental aspects of the value chain.

The performance of the process will be compared with other competing available technologies as well as with new pathways under development.

The project will also conduct an environmental sustainability assessment of the integrated and optimized process, by using the information collected in the various work packages. This assessment will take into account the potential contributions to renewable energy and GHG emission reduction targets, derived from the implementation of the BIO4A process. It will cover all the steps in the value chain, including the supply of sustainable biomass feedstock and its use for the production of sustainable aviation fuels.
