This hybrid event held on 19 April in Brussels, presented the milestones achieved by the BIO4A partners in the production, blending and distribution of SAF at kilotonnes scale. It also illustrated the challenges and solutions for the deployment of feedstock alternatives to waste lipids and oils, obtained from low ILUC risk agricultural biomass, from HEFA pathways. The debate and the discussion with the participants also looked at the opportunities of a synergistic policy and agro-industrial approach to reconcile SAF deployment at scale with carbon removal and soil health, for carbon neutrality and the other objectives of the EU Green Deal.
